Music has been at the heart of Mike Dutton's life since he first heard Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles at the age of fourteen. From that moment, he knew performing wasn't just a passion, it was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life.

A Sunshine Coast local, Mike has been performing professionally since leaving Coolum State High School in the mid-1990s. Over the past three decades, he has played more than 1,500 live performances across cafés, restaurants, wineries, breweries, resorts, clubs, festivals, weddings and private events throughout the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. His career has also taken him to the Whitsundays, regional mining communities and interstate engagements in Sydney and Melbourne.

Inspired by artists such as The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Jack Johnson, Chris Stapleton, John Mayer and Zach Bryan, Mike has developed a versatile repertoire that blends timeless classics with contemporary favourites. Having performed everything from rockabilly, funk, reggae and jazz through to country, acoustic pop and classic rock, he understands how to tailor every performance to suit the atmosphere of the venue and the audience in front of him.

More recently, Mike has developed a passion for fingerstyle guitar, bossa nova and acoustic blues, creating a warm, relaxed sound that's perfectly suited to Sunshine Coast cafés, breweries, wineries, restaurants and coastal venues.

Whether performing an intimate acoustic session with looping and subtle percussion or delivering an energetic electric performance with professional backing tracks, Mike's focus is always the same: creating an atmosphere that enhances the experience, encourages guests to stay longer and leaves people talking long after the final song.

With more than 30 years of professional experience, over 1,500 live performances, professional sound equipment, a fully self-contained setup and a reputation for being reliable and easy to work with, Mike makes booking live music simple. As a qualified teacher and Blue Card holder, he is equally at home performing at family-friendly venues, community events and private functions.
